my everyday style: sneakers for the win!

I originally bought these sneakers last summer for summer fun and activities… little did I know then that they are really the perfect year long shoe. Which is hard to find here in Michigan.  Sure when there is more than a foot of snow on the ground they aren't ideal - really, only boots will do.  But for more mild days they are perfect. I can't believe how much wear I have been getting out of them.

Not to mention that these sneakers are now out in a bunch of new colors for spring (think gold, white, multi-color, neon and grey!) - swoon!

how to style sneakers!

Raise your hand if you are loving the sneaker trend.  It looks like it is here to stay… and I've been wearing them as much as the weather will allow these days (which is limited with the snow and cold). But they are actually not too bad to wear in snow… they are warm and grip well.  The best thing is that they are perfect for every other season if winter isn't doable for you.  I always love to show a little ankle when I wear my sneaks.  Sneakers add a casual and sporty vibe to any look and it's fun to juxtapose a pulled together look with a pair of trendy sneakers.

I think sneakers are going to be crazy popular this spring, so now is a great time to snag a pair.  Here are a few of my favorite ways to wear my sneakers… and a few of my favorite picks!

1. nike 2. new balance 3. loeffler randall 4. coach - on sale! 5. vans 6. kate spade - on sale! 7. new balance - under $60! 8. superega

my everyday style: a little sporty!

Athleticism and physical activity don't come naturally to me whatsoever. I think it's because I tend to be quite uncoordinated and I'll be frank - I don't love to sweat so much either.  So this past summer when we had two quite "active" vacations on the docket I knew I needed some footwear that could work on mountains and trails and keeping up with my kids.

I'm so glad that sneakers are having their moment "in style" right now because I wore these a lot this summer… all while still feeling like I was at least a little on the fashionable side.  Since then, I continue to get a lot of use out of these puppies.  They are perfect for fall weekends around town - or for hiking. I'm all for a versatile and handsome shoe.
